+ Squelchy Acid House douse from Peggy Gou +

Berlin based Korean DJ Peggy Gou is relatively new on the scene (her first EP was released in 2016) but her irresistible concoctions of Acid House, Techno and Disco combined with a love of faders, funk lyrical hooks and impeccable mixing skills made her set unmissable on Saturday night.

Peggy Gou/Peggy Shoe/Peggy boo – a series of spin off names passed around the crowd and were welcomed, Gou created a playful, experimental and exciting space for Southampton’s night owls with a taste for acidic bass. Several ravers lifted a shoe above their head, a group ritual that spread amongst the sea of sweaty, smiling faces, adorned with bobbing, scruffy Nikes and Adidas.

Many of Peggy’s tracks started off with a basic drum beat and were layered with individual riffs and sounds separately meaning every wobbly, wacky effect had its moment. The eclectic mix of sounds attracted many to watch her decks from the stage, fascinated by Gou’s precision and skill.

Peggy Gou we love you!
