Annie Mac 2016 Victorious Festival

At the end of August Victorious Festival absorbs Portsmouth harbour for a weekend of old timer bands such as The Boomtown Rats who played last year, as well as current Indie bands like Eliza and the Bear, DMA’s and Milky Chance. Due to the diverse line up the crowds are equally mixed, last year you could see parents bouncing young children on their shoulders alongside neon splattered teens and a bloke in a suit suggestively holding a sign with a bbfc 18 certificate sticker on it.

If anyone could have united the eclectic crowd on the Sunday night it was DJ Annie Mac who played an incredible live set on the Sunday night main stage. Renowned for her Friday night show on BBC Radio 1, Annie Mac did not disappoint with a massive light display of luminous cartoon versions of her face that morphed, pulsed and shifted with the popular dance tunes all mixed effortlessly.

She featured the hottest summer tracks from Duke Dumont, SHY FX and Disclosure finishing with the soulful classic Everybody's Free to ramp up the positive vibes as the festival came to a close. Last year was massive for Annie Mac as she played Wildlife festival, V festival and Cream fields which she said was “one of the biggest gigs of my career”, all whilst pregnant with her second child!

Annie Mac was the highlight of Victorious festival last year, and with the Indie line up of Elbow, Stereophonics and Jake Bugg planned for this summer one can’t help feel that it will feel a bit less sunny without the summer dance hits from Annie Mac’s incredible set.
